Dying to Know Day
"Opening up conversations and sharing information demystifies death and the dying process. On August 8th if you can’t get to an event we are inviting everyone to take personal action such as rewriting/writing your will and researching end of life care"
"Whatever our age or stage of life, a bit of planning and research can go a long way toward demystifying death and the dying process."
Dying To Know Day asks everyone to:
develop their death literacy
make end of life plans such as a Will and Advance Care Plan
share these wishes with your family and loved ones
get informed about end of life and death care options such as dying at home, home and community led funerals and natural burial
be better equipped to support family and friends experiencing death, dying and bereavement.
"Dying to Know Day is
about getting together with
people we care about,
sharing our hopes and fears
and growing our understanding
of death in order to live more fully.
Let's not wait until it's too late
to have meaningful conversations.
D2K Day is our golden ticket to talking about death"
The GroundSwell Project is an organisation that exists to change the response to death from avoidance to deep engagement and social action.
